 Residency Programs:

The Faculty of Medicine along with its teaching hospitals and other health facilities, make endeavor to provide the necessary physical and human resources to create a scholarly environment appropriate for the training of medical graduates so that they acquire the knowledge, skills and attitudes to become practiced physicians and specialists with the highest moral and ethical standards. The learning experience inherent to the offered clinical training is expected to prepare the trainees to perform as clinical teachers in an academic milieu, to provide high quality medical services to the community as members of the Health care team, and to expose them to a rich research environment.

 The Faculty of Medicine also tries to give opportunities for advanced or special training in order to be responsive to the needs of the university or rural regions.

 To maintain and develop training courses and produce sciences, knowledge and technology in the field of specialized courses are regarded as the objectives of specialty and subspecialty Deputy Dean of the faculty.

 The trainees' progress are to be evaluated at all levels of graded responsibility, to ensure that they have attained the pedagogical objectives and to qualify the trainees for the final certifying and licensing examinations of the  ministry of health and medical education of the country.

 By contacting the agreements with foreign neighbor countries to maintain its international role, the Faculty of Medicine of Tabriz intends to train residents from other countries such as Iraq, Azerbaijan,... universities and hospitals in its postgraduate training programs. They return to their home country upon completion of their training.

Programs and Directors

Tabriz University of Medical Sciences offers residency and fellowship training in a variety of specialty and subspecialty disciplines. Due to a large number of training programs, these are not administered centrally. Each department, through the program director and the program committee, administers the program at a local level.
